This is a short list of classes you may want to explore after you have learned how to use PACE. It is not a list of classes that are guaranteed to suit every person or every day.
Class content and availability can change, so check the live timetable before booking.
Before Your First Class
Read the class description and check whether it includes floor work, standing balance, equipment or continuous movement.
Arrive a few minutes early and tell the instructor that it is your first session.
Explain that you may need to change a movement or take additional rest.
Ask about seated, standing or supported options if these would help.
Choose what works for you during the class. You do not have to copy every movement or keep pace with everyone else.
Classes to Explore
Tai Chi or Qi Gong
Slow, guided movement performed mainly while standing, often with a focus on balance, coordination and controlled movement.
Know before you go: Ask whether you can use support or complete some movements seated if standing for the full session is not workable for you.
Aqua
An instructor-led exercise session in the pool. The water changes how movement feels and provides a different way to work on movement and stamina.
Know before you go: Consider pool access, changing and getting into and out of the water as part of the whole activity.
Hatha Yoga
A guided session involving postures, movement and breathing. Classes commonly include both standing positions and floor work.
Know before you go: Ask about the amount of floor work and whether alternatives are available before the session starts.
Pilates
Controlled movements that commonly involve the trunk, hips and shoulders. Much of the class may take place on a mat.
Know before you go: Check the floor-work expectations and ask what alternatives the instructor can offer.
Reformer Pilates — Introduction or Foundation
Pilates movements performed on a sliding carriage with springs and straps. Twickenham offers different Reformer formats; Introduction or Foundation is the appropriate place to learn the equipment before considering faster formats.
Know before you go: Arrive early, follow the instructor's equipment setup and ask before changing the spring resistance. Check the current clothing and grip-sock requirements when booking.
Use PACE During the Class
Pick your pace: Slow down, pause or move at a tempo you can manage.
Adjust the load: Use less resistance, a lighter weight or a body-weight option where available. On a Reformer, change the springs only with the instructor's guidance.
Change the range: Make the movement smaller or use a range that feels more manageable.
Ease the effort: Complete fewer repetitions, take more rest or sit out one movement.
PACE is a menu, not a fixed sequence. You may use one adjustment, several adjustments or change your choice during the session.
Not every class or movement will offer a workable option on every day. If the available choices still do not work for you, pause and speak with the instructor rather than forcing the movement.
Check the Timetable and Book
Use the Nuffield Health app or ask at reception to book.
If you are unsure what a class involves, ask the centre or instructor before attending.
This is Mihai's local supplementary guide for JPP participants. It is not an official Nuffield controlled document and does not replace individual medical advice or Nuffield safety instructions.
